What Should Physicians Consider About American Indian/Alaska Native Women’s Reproductive Freedom?


Using a case study of a Native woman who was sterilized without her transparent consent, this article explores the historical violations of American Indian/Alaska Native women’s reproductive rights and how physicians should express respect for this history and for the autonomy of AI/AN female patients regarding surgical sterilization procedures today.
