100 Million Healthier Lives Change Library on Community Commons

The 100 Million Healthier Lives Change Library Has a New Permanent Home on Community Commons

100 Million Healthier Lives (100MLives) partnered with Community Commons to create a permanent home for the Change Library.  As of July 2020, pre-existing Change Library content was migrated, and new bright spots, tools, and stories are now submitted directly to Community Commons.

This collaboration adds sustainability to the Change Library, integrates its content to advance shared learning, and amplifies these learnings through positioning for a larger audience. Users can now do the following on Community Commons:

What is the 100MLives Change Library?

The 100MLives Change Library is a practical, searchable, peer-reviewed implementation library that helps change-makers by sharing things that work--and things that don’t work--to improve health, well-being, and equity for people and communities. It comprises bright-spots, stories, and tools shared by 100MLives members from across the world. Unlike a traditional journal, Change Library submissions focus on implementation details: How long did the work take? In what context was it used? What details do you need to use this resource?

You can find the following in the Change Library:

  • Bright Spots that share specific practices, policies, or programs that have demonstrated significant, meaningful, measurable improvement. They may be early successes related to something that has worked well in a community or organization.

  • Stories that describe the journey of a person, organization, coalition, or community. These include stories of personal transformation; stories that offer insight into the journey to health, well-being, and equity; or stories about a “fail forward” moment—one where a mistake or failure led to significant growth and learning.

  • Tools, toolkits, guidelines/recommendations, websites, applications (apps), articles, reports, books and other resources to help implement change work.

What is 100MLives?

100MLives marked an unprecedented collaboration of change agents across sectors pursuing an unprecedented result: 100 million people living healthier lives by 2020. 100MLives was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and convened by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). From its start in 2014 to its completion in 2020, 100MLives global movement fundamentally transformed the way the world thinks and acts to build a Culture of Health.

Together, 100MLives members created solutions to the most intractable challenges that stand in the way of achieving health, well-being and equity across the globe. They have changed the world in meaningful ways, working together--with kids, veterans and elders--on topics such as nutrition, mental health, education, homelessness, and many more.
