Contributing Writer: Kathryn Richards

Kathryn Richards has been a Contributing Writer for Community Commons since 2023, sharing her expertise in suicide prevention and access to lethal means, developing widespread communications to produce health-related behavior change, high-level strategizing to address complex public health issues, and evaluation.

Kathryn is a survivor of suicide loss. Her brother died by suicide when he was 26. Kathryn is most passionate about mental health, challenging the stigma around mental health and suicide, suicide prevention strategies, and improving firearm safety behaviors as a tool for preventing suicide.
